There have been reports of the cabinets in the kitchen opening on their own, lights flickering when turned on, electronic toys being turned on, cold spots in front room and one of the bedrooms. Owners stated that one day they had left to go into town, and when they came back one of the rooms was a mess. Nothing like this has happened since then, but there are little things that are still happening in the home. There has not been any reports of tragic events on the property. The Revel will take place at the Haunted Location with the Clients. www.OhioGhostHunters.US www.TheWhiteNoiseForum.com SECOND UP >>> Jail located in Fort Bend County Texas In November of 1896, L.T. Noyes, a Houston contractor and agent for Diebold Safe and Lock Company of Canton, Ohio, was awarded an $18 thousand contract to build a jail which would include sheriff's living quarters. Forty-year bonds at five percent were issued for $20 thousand to cover building and furnishing expenses. The building was accepted on April 5, 1897, when C.W. Parnell was Sheriff. Built of red brick and McNeal limestone, the interior and exterior red clay and mortar walls carry the load of concrete floors, although the sheriff's living quarters on the first floor had conventional wood deck and joist flooring. The basement, a rarity in this environment was refinished with cement in 1899 because of regular flooding. The refinishing cost was $100. The actual entry to the jail facility was on the first level, front right side, through an iron door. The foyer, stairs to the cell blocks upstairs, and the sheriff's office were separated from his living quarters by another iron door. Food, often prepared by the sheriff's wife, was passed through a small metal door into the foyer area, to be taken up to the prisoners. Persons going to the second floor passed through an iron gate before ascending the curved narrow stairway. Instead of bars, iron lattice-work covered the inside of windows and formed cells. Two large, two-story rooms on either side of the second floor housed double-decker cell blocks. In the center section were more cells and the gallows. Individual cells and areas for solitary confinement were on the second and third floors. This was the Fort Bend County Jail until another one was built in 1955. In 1996 a suggestion was made to renovate the 1897 jail building and use it as a police department building and the focal point for future downtown renovation. The renovated building had an addition added to the original building connected by an atrium. The new addition houses administrative offices, detention areas, and evidence storage facilities. The renovated area houses patrol, detectives, dispatchers, records and a training room. The front portion of the building was set up as a museum. On the second floor a catwalk was incorporated to the new administrative annex creating an atrium effect on the first floor between the original structure and the new annex. Some of the original cells, and the gallows, were retained due to their historic significance. Two men were hung inside the jail that we can confirm. I have personally stood on the gallows’ platform and my heart raced. It was almost as if I could feel the noose tightening around my own neck. We have heard a few accounts (though unproven at this time) that several men were hung behind the jail and buried on the property in unmarked graves. Officers have reported hearing keyboards clicking as if someone was typing and chairs being rolled along the floor when no one else was in the room. They have heard other sounds that they could not find a source for. Many officers have felt like they were being watched, particularly in the basement. Prisoners were kept in the basement and deprived food and water. It has been reported that many of them died in the basement. We will be discussing Author Dan Gordon's Books Contemporary Cape Cod Ghost Stories or my current book Haunted Baseball: Ghosts, Curses, Legends & Eerie Events. Cape Encounters is a compendium of firsthand ghost stories shared by residents of Cape Codders. Hundreds of locals subtle and not-so-subtle stories of ghosts kissing sleeping women, flipping theater seats, folding laundry and joining musicians on-stage. We were surprised by the number of grounded, thoughtful, credible individuals we met who shared these stories, which also shed light on the tradition, natural beauty and maritime lore of the Cape. For Haunted Baseball, my co-author Mickey Bradley and I interviewed over 800 major leaguers and covered Fenway Park, where the night crew hear the late night crack of the bat and phantom cheers when working alone in the ballpark; Yankee Stadium, where Derek Jeter, Chipper Jones, A-Rod, Jason Giambi and hundreds of major leaguers told us the home team gets a little help from the ghosts of past legends; Wrigley Field, the ghost of Charlie Grimm's stomping grounds; Dodger Stadium, including accounts from late night security on a ghost in high heels who walks the top deck; Petco Park, which keeps the overnight cleaning crew on edge; and Rogers Centre, where Miguel Batista had a flute swatted from his hands. There are Babe Ruth sightings on a storied ballfield in St Pete. CC Sabathia tells why he fled from an elevator in San Fran. Coco Crisp and Ellis Burks also chime in. Todd Jones told us that "the walls breathe in and out" at the Vinoy Hotel in St. Pete. .And Johnny Damon tells of being pinned down by a ghost.
